Create a list of rewards based on the students’ preferences
Rewards may vary in significance – earn more stars for bigger rewards
List down the expected behaviors that students will earn rewards or incentives for
Display the list in a place where everyone can see them
Consider small incentives without all the formality of a system
Snacks, stationery
Verbal affirmations, High-fives, call parents to share on positive behaviour
Verbally praise students whenever good actions are observed
Either quietly or in front of the class
Positive notes sent home for demonstrating good behavior and meeting expectations
Track each student’s progress toward rewards through a chart
Reward students who earn enough points for a given reward or incentive
Reward at the end of each day or week – students select incentive from list of rewards
