Itinerary planning: Language comes alive!
1. Staff would be able to understand how blended learning can create participatory, connect and reflect on lesson and learning experience.
2. Identify ways to increase student engagement in the learning of oral presentation skills.
Students to do a group presentation which consists of:
a. introduction of 2 itineraries based of the assigned task to the class
b. the use of persuasive language to engage their classmates' interests in order to attract their classmate join their itineraries
Students are able to:
a. brainstorm for ways to convince their audiences through the use of persuasive language.
b. gain better understanding on how to sieve out and extract important and related information
c. understand how the layout / design of slides can help to attract the attention of the audience.
Before and during the session, students to have access to Padlet.
In groups of three teachers, complete the following pre-workshop activity.
Task: You are the tour guide of a HIHS travel agency. You are required to arrange a half-day tour for the teachers of HIHS.
1. Choose 2 locations from following locations.
- Zoo Singapore
- Jewel Changi
- Merlion Park
2. Write an outline of the itinerary activities and post them on padlet.
3. Specify the ' selling point' of the locations.
4. Can refer to the example of itinerary given in the padlet.
** Each group are required to role play and conduct 1min presentation to 'sell' their itinerary
** This task may take around 10 mins to complete
