Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) Fortnight 2021
The Mother Tongue Language (MTL) Fortnight aims to engage students with learning experiences beyond the textbooks to make the learning of MTL fun and meaningful. This year, the MTL teachers made use of the FHBL period in May, to design pre-MTL Fortnight tasks for the students, that lead up to the MTL Fortnight activities and competitions in Term 3. Artefacts of Sec 3 CL students lantern-making activity was also showcased on Level 3 outside the staffroom during Mid-Autumn Festival.
Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) Fortnight 2020
The Mother Tongue Language (MTL) Fortnight aims to engage students with learning experiences beyond the textbooks to make the learning of MTL fun and meaningful. The MTL teachers designed an array of Learning Experiences seizing COVID-19 as teachable moments and encouraged students to make connections to their daily lives and apply their learning through various mediums. Some students travelled through time writing an email to their past or future selves reflecting on what the pandemic meant for them; others unleashed their creativity through designing informative and motivational posters, drew creative comic strips reflecting on their daily life in this COVID-19 world and recorded interesting and informative Tik-Tok videos.
