Lesson objectives
In this lesson students will:
learn / revise words related to sport and competitions
discuss the sports they do
Students read the words in the word pool. Make sure they understand all the words. If necessary, ask them to translate into their language.
Play the CD. Students listen to the words and repeat them.
Make sure they pronounce the words correctly with the correct stress, especially tournament and opponent.
Language note
Remind students that two-syllable nouns are almost always stressed on the first syllable, e.g. winner, loser and captain.
