Creating Google Meetings

Step by step instructions for setting up a Google Meet

Step 1

  • Navigate to https://meet.google.com

  • Click the plus (+) symbol to create a meeting

  • Under the "Join or start a meeting" you will see any meetings you have scheduled for the day. Instructions for scheduling meetings can be found in the "Integrate With Classroom" section

Step 2

  • Enter the name for the meeting in the window that pops up

  • Click on "Continue" in the lower right corner of the pop-up window

Step 3

  • If you've never used Google Meet, you will get a pop-up in the top left corner asking for permission to use your camera and microphone. There will also be a window in the center explaining the access that is needed

  • Click "Allow" in the top left pop-up window

Step 4

  • Click the "Join now" button

  • You have now created and entered a new meeting

Step 5

  • Click on the name of the meeting in the lower left corner

  • A window will pop up with information to join

  • The URL can be posted in an email, a Google Classroom post, a document, or anywhere that links are shared

  • Additionally, a phone number is provided. Anyone with that number can call it and join the meeting, audio only.
