Adding Material

The home page of your class provides a stream of information for the student. All communication posts from you and new assignments will show in this stream. To add material for the students, please follow these instructions:

Step 1

  • Click on the "Classwork" tab near the top of the page


Step 2

  • Click on the "Create" button

  • Select the type of assignment you are wanting to create

  • For the purpose of these instructions, we are going to select Material. The following screenshots will be regarding that selection.

  • This Google Support search provides links to describe the other types of assignments.


Step 3

  • Fill out the Title and Description for the material that you are wanting to share with the students.

  • Click on the "Add" button near the bottom left to upload a file from your computer or from Google Drive

  • Click on the "Create" button to create a new file in Google Drive that you will fill out

  • The "For" dropdown menus allow you control who gets assigned this material.

  • The "Topic" section allows you categorize this material

  • Click on "Post" in the top right to immediately post this material to the stream on the home page of the class

    • The arrow next to "Post" allows you to schedule a later time to post the material, save any changes you have made as a draft, or to discard those changes.
