Why do my students show "Offline" but are clearly in my GoGuardian class?

  • Try manually ending and then re-starting your classroom session if you are seeing several (but not all) students offline. All student browsing data will still be saved from those first few minutes of class.

  • Some students may have joined your class or signed into their Chromebooks a little late, or after your class session has already launched.

  • If students are home and logging in from a personal device or not logged into the Google browser with their school account they will also appear "Offline".

  • A few teachers have found that having students visit chrome://restart launches them into the class as well.

  • Also, consider scheduling our class session to end class around 3-5 minutes before the very end of the period. This will prevent the problem of students getting "stuck" in your class when they enter other teachers' sessions.

How do I add a co-teacher or aide to my classroom?

  • Additional Teachers and teacher's assistants can be added to each of your classrooms. In order to add additional teachers, they must first have a GoGuardian Teacher account registered. If the individual is not searchable, please contact me with the following information:

    • First and Last name of the individual

    • Email address

    • School site

How do I add/delete students from my classroom?

  • If this classroom was imported via Google Classroom, please update your Google Classroom roster and Sync.
    Please note: At this time, students cannot be added/removed manually from a classroom that was imported with Google Classroom.

  • Disconnect from Google Classroom and reconnect.

  • If NOT imported via Google Classroom: There are a few options to add/remove/delete students from a classroom either for a session or permanently.
    If a student is absent for the day or removed to another class temporarily, you might want to only
    exclude them from your session. To do this please see this article.
    If you would like to permanently add/remove students from a classroom, do the following:

    • Navigate to your GoGuardian Classroom

    • Click the Students tab

    • Click the X icon to the right of the student's name

    • Confirm by selecting Remove Student from the popup
