E-Safety Workshop

Merlin Class participated in an E-safety assembly, where the teacher gave us instructions of what to do when you encounter a stranger online, and apps that are age restricted. For example, Roblox, TikTok and WhatsApp have age restrictions of 12+ and 16+. We also did some role-play. In addition, we learnt how to deal with stress and cyber bullying and how we should talk to a trusted adult (teachers, parents, and older siblings). What I liked about the Workshop, is how they gave us a chance to role play and act it out so we know what to do, and the advice that she gave us was very useful.

Creating Media - Web Page Creation

This unit introduces learners to the creation of websites for a chosen purpose. Learners identify what makes a good web page and use this information to design and evaluate their own website using Google Sites. Throughout the process learners pay specific attention to copyright and fair use of media, the aesthetics of the site, and navigation paths.

What makes a good website?

We learnt about different types of media used on websites. As a class, we discussed a variety of features (search bar, menu, media and web pages), layouts, and how a website is created by using HTML. In addition, we explored the website by doing a short quiz about animals and their lifestyle. We also annotated an image of a website in our books.
