Internet Safety Workshop

This morning we were introduced to some jungle animals and the 'Internet Owl' who helped us to be kind. We explained how to behave online in ways that do not upset others.

We then made a poster to remind us all how to stay safe online.

It's STEM Week!! - W/C 13.03.23

This year's theme for British Science Week was 'Connections.' We looked at the connections we have with our planet and those our planet has with us. We looked at the wonderful life below water and the dangers they face. We made posters using wax-resist crayons and colour wash to highlight the importance of plastic pollution in our oceans, seas, and rivers. We were also introduced to a Scientist, in particular, a marine biologist called Eugenie Clark also known as the 'Shark Lady.'

"The fish are dying because of the plastic bags on their heads." - Vanessa

"People throw plastic into the water and go in fish mouth stop breathing, die." - Hassan

"Stop throwing plastic in the ocean. There will be no fish, sharks and whales left." - Adam

We also did a Skittles experiment to see what would happen if we were to add warm water to Skittles placed around a plate.

"We think the colour on the Skittles will dissolve and we will see a rainbow." - Adam, Trey & Isa

We also discussed what a scientist was and what they may look like.

Luckily no one drew this...

The children were keen to point out that a scientist can be a woman just like Eugenie Clark!

We also made Energy Bars to keep us going through the tough times, traveling for days on end!
