Final project!
I can utilize the materials that I already have to innovate with 3D Construction methods.
I can reflect upon my prior experiences with sculpture in order to better understand the role of 3D making in my future K-12 classroom.
I can discuss and consider the role of prior learning in culturally responsive teaching and designing a curriculum scope and sequence.
I can generate and evaluate methods for delivering process visuals/demonstrations of technique to my students.
You can either type out your lists or attach documents or photos of your Field Notes (wherever you compiled your list for homework last week)
Please add a post-it note on each of the posted topics HERE.
Then step back and take in this quick visualization of our collective thoughts.
How many can we attempt from this list in the time that we have?
Construct a structure that is self supporting using NO adhesives (you may use cutting tools)
Construct a structure (using adhesive and cutting tools) that shows repeated use of the same form.
Model a form using a soft, malleable material (wonder bread, modeling clay, clay, homemade salt dough, play dough)
Use a sturdier object to mold a malleable material.
Create a work that invites/requires participation of the “viewer.”
Construct a work in which LIGHT is a material.
Construct a work that engages the viewer/participant’s senses in an unexpected way (consider smell, sound etc.)
Construct an installation that is site-specific/engages the space around it intentionally in your home/yard.
Propose an installation that is meant to exist in a public space, construct/create a visual to support your proposal.
Quite a few media/materials were left out of the scope of our course explorations. For your final project, select one of these "unexplored materials" that you feel particularly excited about to share with your classmates!
MY REQUEST/RECOMMENDATION: try something that you are NOT already an expert in!
Your site page MUST be ready to go by noon on 10/27
Page must include:
an engaging process visual sharing an inspiring exploration of the material (consider using jumprope to make a video)
a supply list with suggestions of where to get the materials and estimated cost
at least two artists you might share with students that match the ways in which you want the learners to make discoveries and explore. Include at least one image by each artist.
at least two ways in which you could engage learners with image making and exploration of the materials/media. What would you want them to discover? What would you want them to explore? What would you want them to make as a result of this exploration and discovery?
the developmental rationale for using/presenting/exploring this material with preK-12 learners. Cite references from articles or text from this class or another class.
The Criteria:
You are not required to complete a handout AND a page on the archive, but if you enjoy creating beautiful handouts it's something that can DEFINITELY be embedded on your site page AND go into your teaching portfolio.
