Step 1: Hold down the “Ctrl” and “Shift” keys at once, then press the “switch window” button. Step 2: Chrome's cursor will be temporarily replaced with a crosshair. Click and drag a square across the portion of the screen you want to save, then release the trackpad or mouse button.

Split Screen on Chromebook
Using split screens or “side-by-side view” on your Chromebook works much as it does on a Windows PC.
Launch the tabs you want to display. Click and hold the Maximize button until you see arrow icons, drag cursor to the left or right arrow and release. Your screen will snap to the left or right.
Click and hold another tab and drag to the to the other side of the screen and release. Your two screens will fit your full display side-by-side.
