Meet your Medinamite Staff!

My name is Ben Colonius, and I am currently a senior at MHS. In school I’m involved in NHS, Student Council, Hope Squad, Link Crew, cross country, track, and HUDDLE. Writing has always been one of my favorite academic activities to do and I look forward to contributing to The Medinamite.

I'm Aundrea Keith, I am a sophomore here at Medina High School. Due to covid-19 we weren't able to have the same set up as what we would have had. As soon as I found out about this class I immediately wanted to do it because I love to write, but writing essays not so much. Having that freedom to write any topic you choose because it’s like a breath of fresh air, unlike in other classes we are given a topic which just takes the fun out of writing. I hope that I can produce good articles and stories that people would be interested in, and read.

My name is Gabe Zimmerman and I am a senior at Medina. I am a soccer player at the high school and enjoy playing sports. I joined the Medinamite because I enjoy writing and want to contribute to the school community.

I’m Bridget Varley and I am a senior! I joined The Medinamite because I want to interact with Medina High School students and staff in a different and fun way. I want to give different perspectives on topics to inform Medina High School!

My name is Brad Heyduk and I am a Senior at Medina High School and I am 17 years old. I play for the Medina Varsity soccer team and I enjoy working out and playing video games in my free time. I took this class because I was interested in media and wanted to know how to better interpret media and communicate through it. This class has made communication through media a lot easier and more understandable.

My name is Carson Davis and I am a senior this year. I am into music, fashion, art, and movies. I also run track in the spring and train the rest of the year. I wanted to take the Media and Mass Communication class to help understand how people interact with messages so I can help myself if I do something public with my career. I think working on The Medinamite is interesting because it gives a chance to show different parts of the community within the school.

I am Hayley Johnson and I am a senior here at Medina High School. I am interested in contributing to the Medinamite because I thought it would be so much fun to do and a really cool experience. It is also a great way to interact with our school and share important things with everyone at our high school.

I'm Alexa, I am a senior this year. I am team captain of the Medina Girls Tennis team. I participate in the ASL club at the high school. In my free time I like to hangout with family and friends. I joined this class because I wanted to get better experience at writing and journalism.

My name is Lacie Haffner and I am a sophomore. I was interested in joining The Medinamite to get more involved at MHS. I’m also the president of Recycling Club, and participate in cheerleading, encore, and other various clubs. I am excited to write about, and bring awareness to many topics around MHS!

My name is Lauren Marquard and I am a senior this year! I wanted to join The Medinamite because I like to write and thought it would be fun to write about different topics at our school. I hope to become a stronger writer by choosing to help write the Medinamite, along with having fun!

My name is Lucas Kennedy, and I am in tenth grade at Medina High School. This is my second year on The Medinamite staff. In my free time I enjoy watching TV, playing video games, and walking my dog. I also like to read/draw comics which I am looking forward to being able to contribute to the newspaper.

I'm Makalin and I’m a senior. I enjoy hanging out with friends, and going to football games on Friday nights. I played soccer for 12 years, and I am a hostess and Brown Derby. I took this class to learn new things about the media and to have fun with different projects!

My name is Brielle Neimark! I am in 12th grade. I’m a multimedia artist and will be going to Akron next year for graphic design! I chose this class because I intend on going into a major that involves aspects of communication and the media. I find the inter-workings of how we use communication to be very important because it has the ability to change the way we think about things. I want to help make the world a better place with the messages I express!

My name is Megan Malloy, and I am currently a senior at MHS. I am a field commander in the Medina Bees marching band and play the flute in symphony band! I wanted to participate in the production of The Medinamite because I want to write about current events around the school and let some clubs get more recognition.

My name is Nick Grillis and I am a senior. I have an interest in contributing in the Medinamite because I am naturally someone who likes to talk and write. My interests include fishing and partying with my dog Elvis. I love music by Kanye West and others and I hope to add a different but good take on The Medinamite.

I’m Sam Warren, and I decided to participate in The Medinamite because I wanted to get involved at the school, and I thought it would be fun to write articles and take pictures for the school newspaper. I play a lot of video games, but usually find myself doing something else, like community service with Scouts, or playing the piano.

My name is Laney Smith and I’m a sophomore at MHS. I joined Medinamite because I love to write and I loved being a member last year. When I'm not writing, you can find me playing with my dogs or doing musical theatre.

My name is Keon Johnson, and I’m a Senior at Medina High School, I’m also involved in Link Crew which is a program to help and show freshman ways around the school, and I also play football and run track. I’m interested in contributing to The Medinamite because I think it’ll be a great experience for me and I thought it was really interesting and fun. Also I love helping people so I thought it would be cool to give information and help people out and let them know what upcoming events and things going around the high school

I’m Lauren Kadlec. This year I’m a freshman and I am on the staff because I have always loved writing and photography. I am part of the color guard and I am in the Student Council. I have always loved writing stories and taking pictures, this school year I am taking intro to Journalism to help me become a better writer.

I am Hannah Weaver and I am in 9th grade. I was interested in joining The Medinamite because I enjoy writing and photography. I thought that this would be a good way to get involved at Medina High School!

My name is Olivia Myers, I am a freshman at Medina High School. Some of my hobbies include playing piano, getting involved in my church, and hanging out with my friends. I joined Medinamite this year because I am interested in majoring in journalism in college. I hope by contributing in the Medinamite I am able to make a positive influence in the school community.
