The Cooking class has finally been brought back this year. It has been a long time since we have had the class at Medina High school and everyone is excited for it to be back.
According to Mrs. Karagiozis, “The high school got rid of the class because of funding, and the class was brought back because of student surveys.” The class is now located in room 1402, right by the Middle Auditorium. When walking by the class you can smell all of the amazing things that are being made throughout the week.
Some foods cooked in Cooking class include edible cookie dough, choc-oat chip cookies, mug cakes, crepes, granola, smoothie bowls, blueberry french toast roll ups, pork fried rice, salsa, apple turnovers, pasta primavera, breakfast burritos, and baked pumpkin donut holes.
Members of Cooking include (from left to right) Kyrsten Maimone, Sofia Morris, Mrs. Karagiozis, Kaitlyn Horner, Meredith Terepka, and Hallie Haycook.

According to Mrs. Karagiozis, she says that “My favorite thing we’ve made so far is the homemade pretzels."
Some resources in the classroom are an oven, a knife set, cutting boards, an array of pots and pans, a stand mixer, tableware, and a working sink. All of the ingredients come from Mrs. Karagiozis because she goes and buys all of the ingredients. The lab fee for the class is $30.
“The class has been fantastic, I love it. The students are amazing and enjoyable,” Mrs.Karagiozis stated. According to the class selection sheet, juniors and seniors have first priority for the class and most of the classes will be only for them. The course will stay in the same spot and another class will not be added.
