Official Course Description -- Piano HS 2A/B (ART2072)
0.5 credit per semester
Students will learn to create, perform, and respond to piano music in a variety of styles/ genres. Students will continue to develop beginning piano skills learned in HS Piano 1, and move on to intermediate piano skills and techniques, including expanded study of music literacy, chord chart reading, and music theory concepts. Cultural, historical, personal, and social context are studied as they relate to piano repertoire. Students will use effective practice habits to be able to progress independently. This course satisfies the fine arts graduation requirement and may be repeated unlimited times for credit.

This is an Advanced-Level (AL) course which counts towards the MCPS Certificate of Merit (CM)
