MC Guided Placement for Math: ALEKS math assessment
Link to math guided placement: https://www.montgomerycollege.edu/admissions-registration/assessment-testing-centers/remote-placement-part-three.html
The assessment has 2 parts: Assessment 1 is the diagnostic; assessment 2 is the actual placement test.
Both parts MUST be completed to obtain a placement; the “placement” given after the diagnostic does not count. Once BOTH parts are completed, email the DEPA and MC academic coordinator– the Dual Enrollment office is not notified when students test.
Summer college courses are not covered. However, financial assistance is available through an MC High School Grant.
Dual Credit
Student can decide to earn or refuse earning Dual Credit for the class(es) they take through JSC.
Dual Credit means:
By taking a MC course in high school, the student will earn credit for college AND high school. This is beneficial if student needs high school credits to graduate.
MC course grade will be reflected on high school transcript.
MC course grade will impact your high school GPA as an advanced class.
You will not be able to change that decision if you do poorly in the course.
Dual Credit Refusal Form
This form must be completed regardless if the student would like to earn or refuse dual credit. This form is for our records and must be turned in during registration. Please, see below the steps to complete this important form.
