Counseling Framework
The Quince Orchard HS Counseling Services Department follows the following Guiding Principles for our Comprehensive School Counseling Program set out by the MCPS Office of Student and Family Support and Engagement OSFSE):

Is an integral part of a total educational program for student success
Addresses measurable student standards in the areas of academic, personal, interpersonal, career, and healthy development
Includes classroom guidance, responsive counseling, individual planning and system support

Monitors student progress
Measures both process and outcome results and analyzes critical data elements
Seeks improvement each year based on results data

The Quince Orchard HS Counseling Services Department also closely aligns our Program and Delivery with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model and Standards:
The American School Counselor Association is the professional association for school counselors.
The American School Counselor Association is the creator of ASCA National Model.
Guides the organization & implementation of a comprehensive school counseling programs.
ASCA incorporates the four themes of leadership, advocacy, collaboration and systemic change as part of the framework of the ASCA National Model.The framework of the ASCA National Model consists of four components: define, manage, deliver and assess.
