JSC eligibility
In the Jump Start to College pathway, students at Quince Orchard H.S. usually obtain an abbreviated schedule to take 1-4 college classes at MC in the afternoon during the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Students can take one class or more college classes by their H.S. graduation helping them earn 30 or more college credits.
Eligibility requirements:
Have an articulated plan where the student is meeting H.S graduation requirements and have reminding time for college classes;
Have an overall 2.50 cumulative GPA in their senior year or an overall 2.75 cumulative GPA as a freshman, sophomore or junior year;
Meet prerequisite requirements and assessment levels of the MC class(es) chosen to take;
Have the approval of a parent/guardian, high school counselor, and the principal.
Summer college courses are not financially covered. However, financial assistance is available through an MC High School Grant.

Important: Meeting prerequisite requirements and assessment levels for MC courses may required the students to submit SAT/ACT/AP scores. Students may also be asked to take an MC English and/or Math (ALEKS) remote assessment.
To take the English placement, student will received instructions to the MC email accounts.

The assessment has 2 parts: Assessment 1 is the diagnostic; assessment 2 is the actual placement test.
Both parts MUST be completed to obtain a placement; the “placement” given after the diagnostic does not count. Once BOTH parts are completed, email the DEPA and MC academic coordinator– the Dual Enrollment office is not notified when students test.
