eARLY cOLLEGE
Early College Program
In this program, students simultaneously earn their high school diploma and Associates Degree by the end of 12th grade.
The program is offered to students at NO COST.
Students attend fully to MC during the last two years of high school.
Interest Form is due in the FALL of the student's sophomore year.
Eligible student will complete the Montgomery College application by December of the same year.
Students will be notified of their application status in January.
Depending on the chosen program of study at MC, student will need to complete the ACCUPLACER during the Spring of sophomore year.
Specific information will be provided to students via email.

Eligibility Requirements:
Be enrolled in 10th grade at an MCPS high school during the current school year;
Passed mathematics and English state assessments;
Have an unweighted GPA of 2.75 or higher at the time of application to the program;
Met or be near completion of required SSL hours

Jump Start to College pathway and the Early College program?
Early College Program

Jump Start to College (JSC) Pathway
In this pathway, students at Quince Orchard H.S. usually obtain a half day schedule to take 1-4 college classes at MC in the afternoon.
Students can take 10 or more college classes by their H.S. graduation helping them earn 30 or more college credits!
Eligibility requirements:
Have an articulated plan where the student is meeting H.S graduation requirements and have reminding time for college classes;
Have an overall 2.50 cumulative GPA in their senior year or an overall 2.75 cumulative GPA as a freshman, sophomore or junior year;
Meet prerequisite requirements and assessment levels of the MC class(es) chosen to take;
Have the approval of a parent/guardian, high school counselor, and the principal.
