At BCC, we offer several flexible pathways to help employers connect with motivated, well-prepared student interns. Whether you’d like us to promote your opportunity to students, meet candidates face-to-face at our Spring Internship Fair, receive student referrals from your current intern, or simply tell us what you’re looking for and review a short list of resumes, we make it easy to find a strong fit. Employers are welcome to participate in one or multiple pathways.
If you are interested in hosting an intern next year through any of the options below, please complete the appropriate interest form. Returning employers who hosted an intern during the 2025–2026 school year should use the Returning Employer form (no need to re-enter information you’ve already provided). New employers should use the New Employer form to get started.
If you are looking for an intern this Spring, please reach out directly to everett_a_brown2@mcpsmd.org.
If you indicate interest in Direct Apply on the form above, BCC will promote your internship opportunity directly to our students. Employers provide their preferred application method, whether that involves contacting a designated point of contact, submitting materials online, or following another internal process.
Internships offered through Direct Apply will be advertised on the BCC Internship website and in Navigator, MCPS’s official internship platform. Students apply directly to your organization, allowing you to manage applications and communication using your existing hiring workflow.
April 14th at BCC 3:00PM
During this on-campus event, employers will have dedicated time to meet students, share information about their organization, and identify strong potential interns. Employer representatives will staff a table, speak with interested students, and discuss available internship opportunities.
The first hour of the fair is structured as an open networking period. During this time, employers may distribute interview tokens to students they would like to meet with individually. Each token represents a specific interview time slot later in the event, which students can accept or decline based on their availability and interest.
Following the networking period, on-site interviews will take place. Employers will conduct short, one-on-one interviews with students who received and accepted an interview token. After the fair, employers may follow up with students regarding next steps in the application process or extend internship offers directly.
This event is designed to be the most efficient way to find a successful intern candidate.
Quick Apply is a streamlined hiring option designed to make finding a student intern faster and more efficient for employers. By partnering with BCC’s Work-Based Learning team, employers receive a curated short list of strong candidates, saving time while still maintaining full control over final hiring decisions.
Employers opt into Quick Apply and share a brief description of the skills, interests, and qualities they are looking for in an intern. Students resumes and applications are then reviewed by BCC's work based learning team. After the application window closes, we send you a short list of top candidates. In practice, this typically narrows the pool from many applicants (for example, 15) to a focused group of strong matches (around 3).
Employers review the short-listed candidates and determine how many offers to extend. Employers then reach out to students directly to proceed with interviews, next steps, or offers. There are two application rounds, these string matches will be distributed to employers on 4/23 and 6/8.
Quick Apply is ideal for employers who want a faster, more guided hiring process while still retaining full flexibility and decision-making authority.
The Current Intern Referral pathway allows employers to identify future interns with insight from their current student interns. Prospective interns meet with students currently placed at participating worksites to learn about the role, expectations, and application process, and to complete a brief mock interview.
Current interns may recommend strong candidates based on these conversations, helping employers maintain continuity and identify well-prepared students. All meetings are coordinated by the BCC Work-Based Learning team as part of a structured, graded student project.
