Youth Wrestling

The Minooka Wrestling family provides opportunities to experience wrestling from ages 4-14. With an IKWF Club that is housed in the Minooka HS Wrestling room and IESA Programs in all 3 feeder junior highs, the Minooka Wrestling Family has opportunities for everyone.

Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation - Club Wrestling

Minooka HS has been housing and supporting a youth Wrestling Club since 2000. The Indians Elite Wrestling Club offers opportunities for boys and girls as young as 5 years old. The Coaches at the club offer opportunities to train during the club season as well as during the off-season.
The Indian's Elite Wrestling Club is taking a pause in for the 2022-23 Season

The DEMOLITION WRESTLING CLUB established in 2020 has been providing wrestling training for youth from 5 years old through High School. Demolition is dedicated to providing year round training opportunities as well as chances to compete in National Level events.

Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Middle School Wrestling

Minooka Junior High, Channahon Junior High, and Troy Junior High all provide wrestling teams starting in the 5th Grade. Practices are typically held after school with the teams competing in multiple team format duals as well as a couple tournaments each year. The Junior High School season culminates with the IESA State Series that is held in March of every year.

The wresters that come from the IESA wrestling programs have always been the backbone of our High School wrestling team. School wrestling is great way to participate and compete in the sport with your friends and classmates.

Q&A

Q - I wrestle at the Jr High, can I still workout with the Club?

A -

The Demolition Wrestling club provides extra training opportunities to supplement the practice regime with your team. Contact the Demolition Wrestling for more details about their offerings.

Q - I have a 5 year old. Are competitions in the club included / mandatory?

A - The IKWF season runs through November, December, January, and early February. Almost every weekend there are tournaments that the club participates in. These competitions are not mandatory and are paid for by each individual family. If your not sure if your son/daughter is ready ask a Coach at the club. The Club plans to have some "Inter-Squad" scrimmages when possible along with a few nights where we arrange matches with other local clubs.

Q - I have a 5th grader that has never wrestled, where should he start?

A - We have found that the IESA programs are a great place for athletes that are just getting into the sport around this age. In the school wrestling program you son/daughter will have a chance to experience the sport from the basics with his classmates. The Club would be another place to get extra training and possibly some matches in an IKWF Rookie event.
