Indians Elite History

INDIANS ELITE / LITTLE INDIANS HISTORY

The INDIAN WRESTLING FAMILY established an IKWF Wrestling Club for Local Youth in 2000. From the humble beginnings of few enthusiastic parents at a meeting came a room of 50+ 5-10 year olds that began the inaugural season of the LITTLE INDIANS WRESTLING CLUB.

Through patience and hard work the Little Indian Wrestling Club continuously grew to a point where they had 100+ kids every year experiencing the great sport of wrestling.

In 2005 the Little Indians broke thru the IKWF Ranks as BLAKE MONTELLA was crowned the 1st State Medalist as a Runner-Up in the Novice Divsion. in 2006 the Little Indians had 3 wrestlers bring home medals. In 2008, CORBETT OUGHTON was the first Indian Wrestler to be Named IKWF STATE CHAMPION a feat that was followed in 2010 when CHRIS HISCOCK earned another IKWF STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

In 2007, the Little Indians burst into the IKWF DUAL TEAM Series as they beat perennial IKWF power Martinez Elite to place 8th in the IKWF Dual Team Series.

In 2008, the Little Indians topped their performance by placing 5th in the Dual Team State Series.

In 2009, the Little Indians changed names to the INDIAN ELITE WRESTLING CLUB. While the Name changed, the results stayed the same. 2009 saw the Team qualify for the Dual Team State Series for the 3rd year in a row as well as crowning 3 All-Staters. In 2010 the INDIAN ELITE brought home 4 state medals and their 1st STATE TROPHY from the IKWF Individual State Series.

From 2010 - 2020 Indians Elite WC saw a lot of success. Chris Hiscock, Carson Oughton, and Donald Dorich all were crowned State Champs in the 2010's. This decade also saw 17 Indians Elite WC members earn IKWF All-State honors. Additionally, his decade of the club saw many Indians Elite Wrestling Club members decide to join their Jr High teams. IESA State Champs Cooper Shimkus, Jacob Hiles, Nathan Berta, and Anthony Sartori all wrestled for Indians Elite pre-Middle school. Additionally 21 other IESA placers for Minooka and Channahon Jr Highs started in the Indians Elite Wrestling Club.
