John Carey Open

For over a decade, John Carey dedicated himself to the beginners room at the Indians Elite wrestling club. John deeply cared about all the kids that came through the program. John had that special gift of knowing exactly what to say to a wrestler when they came off the mat.

John's mantra "Wrestling is tough, I am a wrestler, I am tough" helped build years and years of wrestlers in our program. He instilled the belief that if I wrestle I can do anything.

John passed away suddenly in 2020. His passing has left a void in our family that will be impossible to fill. In honor of his dedication to the beginner room in our wrestling club we are hosting the John Carey Open to keep his legacy in the minds of our program.
