ELITE EIGHT in '18

2018 Saw a return to Elite state status in Illinois. After opening the Season with a big win over Glenbard North, the Indians steam-rolled through the SPC Conference capturing their 23rd Conference Title.

The Indians pushed into the post-season with a dominant performance at the Moline regional winning the Program's 20th regional title. 11 individuals qualified for the Sectional Tournament with 5 making it to the blood-round. 2 Individuals qualified for the individual state tournament.

Drew Gutknecht - 2018 195 lb STATE QUALIFIER

The Team entered the Sectional Dual match pitted against the defending state champion Lockport Porters. Riding the coattails of 5 pins the Indians defeated Lockport and qualified for the Elite Eight Dual Team State Tournament.

The Indians' draw placed them against Oak Park River Forrest. The highlight of the meet for the Indians was Senior Dominic Ruettiger defeating the State Runner-up in the opening match of the dual. In the end the Huskies proved to be too much for the Indians as Minooka's magical run was ended in the quarterfinals.

The Indians graduate 6 starters and another 10 seniors from the program. But 2019 looks to be another great year with lots of talented young wrestlers chomping at the bit to get into the Varsity lineup.
