My partner and I made “Cozy Sitting Area” to resemble the coziness of the woods. I want people to ask themselves when they are sitting there, “Who made this?” “What Inspired that person to do this?” and I also want them to ask, “Why did you pick this spot?” That’s what I want them to think. I want them to feel cozy and safe. We used vines to make it more pretty and cozy. We used a cushion from a store to make it nice and soft to sit on. We also used a rake and rocks to make a path to it and an entryway to a cozy place. It’s a place to read or just to sit down. We had to pull colorful vines out of a tree and I felt like we were harming the tree. Also It was hard to rake because there were rocks in the way. Those are the reasons why it was hard to make this cozy reading spot. My joys were just being outside and bonding with my friend. Also it was fun because of the insane view of the Adirondack Mountains, especially because it’s fall and the leaves are all sorts of different colors like green, red and orange.
My artwork celebrates how close these four trees are from each other. I used vines and sticks and leaves. It was fun to look for leaves and sticks and vines with my friend, Emily. I was not doing it by myself. It was tricky to get vines because they were attached to the tree. It was also kind of hard to wrap the vines around the tree.
