When people see “The Ant Inn,” I want them to use their imagination and ask themselves, “ What do you think is actually in there?” We used bark for insulation, leaves for design, sticks for support, and rocks for support as well. That would make an Ant Inn. It was hard to find good sturdy sticks and to balance them. They were hard to find because most of the sticks were rotten. They were hard to balance because we have a tree to specifically place sticks and one wrong move could ruin it. This is my artist statement.
My artwork celebrates nature. “The Ant Hill” is beautiful by the way it looks and it is small. I used sticks and rocks and bark to build the ant hill. It was fun to work with Noah because he’s a really good teammate. He doesn’t shut down, and he’s a really fast and good worker. We chose this spot because it looked like there would be a good ant hill right there.
