Titanic Tree celebrates the fantastic view you look out upon when you’re at Mt. Abe. The grass blowing in the valleys in the summer, the vibrant, colorful leaves in the fall, the glistening, snowy hills in the winter, and the bright, green leafy trees in the spring. It’s the perfect picture to describe Vermont.
We wanted our view to be appreciated, which is why our whole art piece is focused on the view. It’s a great photography spot during every season, with rolling hills and deep valleys in the back and rock sculptures surrounding you in the front.
Titanic Tree gets its name because, well, you can do the iconic scene from the movie Titanic in front of Titanic Tree. Yet another great photo opportunity.
Not just humans can enjoy our beautiful spot though: birds can, too. Birds can come to the bird feeders hanging off of Titanic Tree. It’s a spot that is easy for them to get to, being off the side of a cliff and all. They can easily go into the woods from the feeders, and also easily exit the woods.
Titanic Tree combines nature with the pleasure of the human eye, and honors the beauty of where we live.
The art piece celebrates the landscape and the view. It is an amazing view. We used string, rocks and pine cones. I think having a partner helps a lot because we get our art done faster with a partner, and like some people say two minds are better than one, and Addison and I made a really good plan of what we were going to do. So having a partner was really fun.
