Summary
Hedgehog has just finished building a cozy nest, perfect for a long winter rest when ... OUCH! ... a juicy red apple falls from a tree and sticks in the spines on her back. Now Hedgehog can't fit back into her nest. The other animals do their best to help. Squirrel tries to remove the apple but things don't go quite as planned. Suddenly Hedgehog has an apple and three brown nuts stuck on her back. When Pig and Frog try to assist, things only get more complicated. A wonderful story about friendship, illustrated in beautiful, bright colors.

The kids in Mrs. Moriarty's class designed and built tools to help Hedgehog when things get stuck in her quills. Once their tools were finished, the kids entered the story to help Hedgehog get the apple off her back.
