Oak  Learning Update

Our likes and dislikes make us who we are.

Using the text 'My pet goldfish', we thought about how the little boy cared for his goldfish. We have been thinking about how to care for our pets and what our pets need to stay happy and healthy. Together, we came up with the following list:

We got to work on making some dog treats using a recipe from the RSPCA website. The children mashed and mixed bananas, butter, wholemeal flour and vegetable stock before rolling it and cutting them into different shapes.

We had a wonderful morning with WildScience learning about different animals and how to care for them. Some of us were shocked to hear what geckos and snakes eat!

All children were incredibly careful with the animals and they listened beautifully while Ross talked about the care the animals required. During our petting zoo experience the children were given the opportunity to hold a guinea pig, giant millipede, snake, gecko, bearded dragon and African land snail. Although not everyone wanted to hold all of the animals, we certainly learnt a lot!
