Principal's Message

This week really has had everything! Sports Day on Tuesday was exceptional, a huge well done to Miss Williams and Miss Brown for the excellently planned events. Thank you as ever for your attendance; I know it means so much to the children to see you there. A big thank you also to Mr Reeves & Mr McIvor from Rugby Taggers for the loan of their gazebos. Thank you again to everyone who attended the Summer Fair on Wednesday. It was great to see children with their faces painted, using the bouncy castle and parents enjoying their wins on the tombola! The event was a lot of fun, but we were also able to raise in excess of £1700 which is much needed to help fund things like trips and other special items in the future. Thank you also to the Marden Fire Brigade for supporting our event, they have some vacancies, please see the flyer below for more details.

A special mention must be made to Year 6 for their incredible Exhibition on Thursday. All year groups got to see the exhibition during the school day and I know that parents really appreciated the late-night event which made it easier for working parents. A special mention to Mr Clark-Keen and Mrs Rye who supported the children and facilitated another fantastic event.

Today, EYFS parents enjoyed the EYFS Graduation. How much they have grown! Grown physically, academically and sociably. We are really proud of our children and thank you again for your attendance and I know the staff really appreciated the messages on Thankbox.

As we go into the final week of the year, the fun doesn't stop! EYFS are heading to Ramsgate, Y6 are off to Stubbers, Y5 are camping and we have our leavers assembly on the last day of the year!

We have End of Year Reports being sent out on Monday through the MCAS APP. We are incredibly proud of all of our children this year and I hope you all come in to discuss their achievements and reports with the class teacher on Wednesday morning at 8.30. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Support for Low-Income Families This Summer

Summer FSM Vouchers

We will once again be issuing supermarket vouchers to families eligible for benefits-related free school meals for the summer holiday. Funding has been set at £10 per week per eligible child so you will receive 1 x £60 voucher.

Year 6 leavers remain eligible to receive summer vouchers.

Vouchers will be issued to eligible parents via Wonde's E-Voucher system on Friday 21st July 2023.

Free Bus Travel for low-income families

KCC and local bus companies have joined forces to offer free bus travel for low-income families this summer break. This is a fantastic offer and should enable our most vulnerable families to get out and about over the summer and access free Holiday Activity and Food Programmes.

Bus passes will be issued to eligible parents via Wonde's E-Voucher system on Wednesday 19th July 2023.

National Online Safety

A free online safety guide on 'How to Stay Safe Online this Summer'.

With the school summer holidays only a matter of days away, many parents and carers will already be planning outings and activities to keep their young ones entertained. In between those special summer moments, though, there are also likely to be occasions when children happily invest a whole afternoon in Among Us or spend most of their Monday on Minecraft.

As young people’s screen time almost inevitably increases over the holidays, parents like to feel confident that their child will stay safe while they’re exploring the digital world. So we’ve produced a #WakeUpWednesday poster with some simple solutions to help children avoid frequent online pitfalls and enjoy a more positive experience when they go online this summer.
