Central idea: Children encounter a range of risk, challenges and opportunities. 

Our final line of inquiry is, 'An inquiry into how history affects opportunities and the effect this has on a locality'. We have started to look at the charities Barnardos and Save the Children focusing on their founders Thomas Barnardo and Eglantyne Jebb. The children have been really interested in the inspirational actions of all those involved in these charities and their lasting impact on society. They wrote a 'thank you' speech to either Eglantyne or Thomas to demonstrate the gratitude of the public for their acts of kindness.
