LAT Sporting Events

LAT Sports Day

Last Friday, 14 Year 5s and 6s headed to Dartford Athletics Track to compete in a sports day with 15 LAT Primary Schools. The day began with the obstacle relay, where the boys team came 3rd and the girls came 1st. They jumped over hurdles, showed off on the speed bounce and ran as fast as they could.

Afterwards, the girls team completed their running races whilst the boys team headed to compete in their field events. In an incredible effort, the girls came 1st and 2nd in all of their sprint races. Ending with an almighty 2nd place in the 50m + 50m relay. Meanwhile, the boys took part in a carousel of chest push, speed bounce, vortex throw, standing long jump and high stepper.

The LAT 'Dance Off' brought a lot of laughter as all 300 children boogied their way into earning some extra points. The Cha Cha Slide became a favourite!

After some well earned lunch in the shade, the boys took on their track events and the girls swapped to field events. Due to the extreme heat, the Paarlauf Relay was swapped for three 50m x 8 relays. The children had such incredible sportsmanship, with some competing in extra relays to make up numbers. We were so proud to see them come 2nd in all three relays. Miss Williams and Mrs P-C cheered on (as loudly as possible) and we all eagerly awaited the final scores.

Everyone received a medal, and we all had a chance to show our appreciation to the team of staff who had organised the whole event. Marden did incredibly well, coming home in 7th place overall with 290 points - we can't wait for next year now! We hope you enjoy looking through the photos!

LAT Kwik Cricket Festival

On Wednesday, our cricket team headed to the final sporting event of the year in Rochester to compete in the LAT Primary Cricket Tournament. I am pleased to announce that the team came 3rd overall, an incredible achievement!
