Central idea: Migrants and explorers both influence, and are influenced by, the world around us.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been exploring migration, understanding how this is the movement of people from one place to another, and have applied it to a historical setting. By delving into the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings, we have seen how these peoples were migrants who travelled the seas to find new land (Britain). We have explored how they shaped Britain during their settlement and, by focusing on the Viking longships which made travel so easy, created our own wooden longships. Next week, we look forward to reflecting on the long-term impact both the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings have had on Britain as we know it.

 As part of careers week, we were also fortunate to be able to talk to Chelsea Dosad (Mr Dosad's sister) and be inspired by how she has reached the heights she has with her career, especially as a female in a primarily male-dominated workplace.
