1Willow Learning Update

Central idea: Learning about history helps me to understand the present.

In the past two weeks, the children have learnt about what history is. We spent time talking and learning about prehistoric ways of living such as cavemen and the way they recorded their journeys through life by cave painting. The children went into their own caves underneath the tables in the classroom and drew their very own cave drawings. They were absolutely magnificent.  We have moved on to our second line of inquiry where we are looking at objects from the past. First we took a lesson to understand what in fact an object is and why objects in the past are different to the ones that we have today. The children then compared toys from the past to the toys that they have today. We have been reading the story of Lost in the Toy Museum to help us learn about old toys.
