Juniper Learning Update

Central idea: Humans can explore their environment to understand the world around them.

It has been a wonderful couple of weeks in Juniper class! We have been investigating the wildlife within our school environment. Lots of children have been continuing to identify types of leaves in their own time by bringing me a leaf they found on their walk to school or during their play time at lunch. How very knowledgeable! All of the early years children went on a hunt to bring the outdoors, indoors. We dug some mud, and collected sticks and leaves ready for our barefoot walk.  Sophia A - "The leaves were like pillows." Our inquiry has now been exploring how environments around the world might be different to our own. Our discussion led us to Australia and interest was sparked around the animals in Australia. So using our imaginations, we created aeroplanes and made passports ready to fly to Australia and see just how different it is there. So far, the children have taken an interest in the designs on the boomerangs they have seen. Oliver - "There are so many colours and look three crosses there, three crosses there that makes six." We are ready to explore some more aboriginal art across the next week and make our own.
