1/2S Learning Update

Central idea: Human's make choices which may affect Earth's resources

As we enter into our final line of inquiry of the year 'An inquiry into human's responsibilities with the Earth's resources', we have focused on renewable energy. The children have been learning about solar energy, wind energy and hydro energy. We then designed and made wind turbines using hammer and nails, wood saws and drills. The engagement from the children has been excellent and we are looking forward to testing them out next week.

In Y2 maths, we have explored temperature and have begun exploring position and direction. The beebots were great in helping us understand and apply movement and directional language.

In Y1 maths, we have continued exploring coins. We have been able to recognise and count in coins.

We also had our sports day this week - well done to Rainforest house who were the KS1 winners!
