Good morning Manara STEM Families,
As we are busy into our 2nd 6 week period, a lot of wonderful learning is happening! Report cards will be out soon. We apologize for the delay, as with new district systems in place, it is taking some time to navigate how to make sure grades are set properly. Please reach out to your scholar's teacher if you ever have any questions regarding your scholar's academic progression, as they would be happy to meet with you! I will let you know if any other changes occur, but you should be receiving your scholar's report card later this week.
There will not be school this Friday, October 7 for scholars due to staff development for our teachers. We look forward to greeting everyone back at school on Monday, October 10.
Thank you for taking the time to read through the newsletter, as there are always a lot of items to notice each week! Our 2nd annual Family Fun Event last week was a huge success and very fun! Another Family Fun Event is being planned for later this month, so look for information about that coming soon!
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! Enjoy the weather and sunshine! As always, we are here to serve, so if you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!
#MAWAY!

The mission of Manara Academy is to provide students with a creative, adaptive and ethical environment to become knowledgeable inquirers and future leaders in a diverse and evolving global society where we master languages, honor cultural heritages, and respect diversity.
We have staff development this Friday, October 7, which means no school for scholars! We always look forward to our staff development days where we learn things to enhance our teaching and learning goals! We will see scholars back at school on Monday, October 10!
We are increasing our enrollment weekly on our campus! It is very exciting, as we love to see new scholars joining our Manara family each week!
If you know of any family who is interested in enrolling, please reach out to Ms. Smith so that she can contact them, or bring them by / have them stop by the campus so we can answer any of their questions! Any family who refers a family and they enroll their scholar, we will provide a FREE uniform shirt to your scholar as a "thank you" for referring them to our school!
Thank you to all the families who attended out 2nd annual Family Fun Event on Thursday, Sept 29. It was a lot of fun visiting with scholars and families! Our next Family Fun Event will be coming soon!
Please remember to have your yellow car tag that has your scholar's name on it within your dashboard for dismissal. This is necessary for all families to have, as it aids with safety and swiftness within the car line. If you need another one, or are a newly enrolled family, please email the PTO at and they will make you one for your car. manarastempto@manaraacademy.org Thank you for helping to keep our scholars safe and our car line swift!
Paper is a program our district has purchased to help assist scholars in their academic progression within grades 5-8. Scholars should arrive on campus by 8:00am. If it is past 8:00am, please walk your child into the front office area and sign them in for the day. Scholars are counted as tardy after 8:00am.
Breakfast is served from 7:35am until 8:00am. If a scholar arrives after 8:10am, breakfast will not be available, as the cafeteria staff have to begin preparing for lunch time. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mrs. Vinten.
All scholars should be in uniform. Please see the HOME page (upper right hand corner of the newsletter) for the link to the school uniform website (French Toast) if you need to order anything with our logo on it. All polo shirts (navy or gray) should have the Manara Academy logo, and all bottoms should be either navy or gray in color. Sweatpants and jeans are not uniform approved. Jeans can be worn on "Dress Down" designated days, but not during the week. Jackets/coats/sweatshirts should also be solid navy or solid gray in color. There should be no logos on the outerwear other than a Manara Logo (example, it should not read "Nike"). Some rooms are very cold, so please make sure your child has the appropriate outerwear available.
Scholars will call home for parents to bring them the correct uniform/colors. It is part of our Student Code of Conduct (Level 1 Offense) to be out of uniform. Please reach our to Mrs. Vinten (avinten@manaraacademy.org) if you have any questions or concerns.
The "Forget-Me-Not" table was a great success this week. If your child has forgotten an item from home (backpack, lunch, homework, jacket, etc.), please leave it on the "Forget-Me-Not" table labeled with his/her name and grade level. Ms. Smith will check the "Forget-Me-Not" table throughout the day, but if you would also like to call our front office to let us know you dropped something off or will be dropping something off that is great as well. Having this available means families do not have to come inside of the building to drop something off and will hopefully save families some time getting back to work or home!
There is a new system in place within Manara for students to be able to report school safety concerns. Manara Watch is a safe place for Manara Students to report their school safety concerns anonymously. Students are asked to provide enough details so the concern can be investigated thoroughly. In order to utilize the Manara Watch Link , students must be a current student and use their student email address to access this reporting system. This site is also available through the Home page link and is also on Manara's main website.
Snack Cart will take place this Thursday, October 6. Scholars have assigned times to attend the snack cart with their class, so if he/she forgets their money, please make sure it is dropped off to Ms. Smith in the front office no later than 1:30pm. Please reach out to the PTO if you have any questions!
Below are links to grade level newsletters. Please reach out to your child's teacher with any questions!
If you need to meet with Mrs. Vinten due to a question or a concern, please scan the QR reader below and she will get back to you regarding setting up a conference time.
