ALLY @ NPC

Anthology Ally is a tool that integrates into Moodle to make the course content more accessible for students.  Below are a few of the major benefits of using Ally in the LMS for students and instructors: 

• Providing alternative file formats for students to download documents that were uploaded to the course in the Moodle LMS.  The following file formats are available as alternative downloads: tagged PDF, HTML, ePub, electronic braille, and audio. 

• Instructors can quickly identify any accessibility issues with the course content using the accessibility scores and the feedback from Ally on strategies to improve the accessibility of the content.

• ALLY Support and Training Resources 

Instructors and Students can visit the Anthology Ally website at https://help.blackboard.com/Ally/Ally_for_LMS for up-to-date training material and other resources.  Additional Ally Training at NPC will be schedule at NPC.  You can view any upcoming training dates and times on the ITCS Department Training Calendar.

Ally is a revolutionary accessibility tool that integrates seamlessly with your learning management system (LMS) to help make digital course content more accessible to all students, regardless of their learning needs or preferences. Instructors have access to an accessibility report in Moodle which quickly identifies and assists with improving access to the course materials.  

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Understand the importance of accessibility in digital course content.

• Navigate the basic features and functionalities of Blackboard Ally.

• Identify common accessibility issues in course materials.
