PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man-made chemicals widely used in industry. Recently, PFAS has been under investigation in Michigan as a result of levels far above the legal limit in and around Rockford, put there by the footwear manufacturer Wolverine World Wide.
There is lack of an informational tool for both the media and legislators that represents and addresses the nature of PFAS pollution in the Plainfield Township area.
