Welcome to the Winter 2020 Online Showcase site for ENS 401: Environmental Problem Solving. Students in the class are working with several wonderful community partners this semester to develop projects that promote ecological literacy and sustainability. We invite you to view the five project presentations linked below.
In ENS 401 we follow the design thinking process to address wicked problems. Showcase presentations provide the background and analysis for each project problem, and present several possible "prototype" solutions. Project groups will develop the most promising proposed solution based on feedback from the Showcase.
The coronavirus pandemic has severely disrupted our class structure, along with everything else in our previously familiar world. It has been a source of great hope for me to see our students continue to make progress on their projects in spite of these challenges. Please realize that we are all working in unusually limited circumstances. The lockdown makes group work especially tricky.
Still, these presentations demonstrate that our students have been developing the kind of skills and confidence they will need to help realize a better world when the current situation passes.
Thank you for stopping by!
