Outdoor Education…Character development through the outdoors
Remember, it’s a really basic thing to know and it’s all about your safety.
You should always tell an adult where you are going and how long you will be!
It doesn’t matter whether you’re off to a friends place to play, or to a shopping mall, the movies, or the park - you need to let someone else know where you are and how long you will be.
TASK: As you process the following information, make a note of the key points to discuss with your parents/guardians
Wero is New Zealand's first ever man made river and whitewater park. There is a grade 2 (easy) and grade 4 (hard) white water course for kayaking and rafting. Rapids are interchangeable to suit customer demand. If people want to learn how to surf on a play wave, practise crossing strong eddy lines, etc… the Wero team can move underwater pillar’s to create the water to flow in the way the customer wants.
“Wero” is the Maori word for “CHALLENGE”
You will be able to perform the skills you have learnt in the pool sessions on the grade 2 Tamariki river at Wero.
