These colleges will be joining us to talk about opportunities for students on their campuses: Avila University, Baker University, Donnelly College, Kansas State University, Park University, Rockhurst University, University of Kansas and KU Honors College, University of Missouri - Kansas City, and Wichita State University.

All Sumner Seniors will be going transported to the Legends Field for the College Fair.
Permission slips will be given out during FA on Wednesday 9/22. Students who return their permission forms by Friday 9/24 will be entered to win one of 5 STARBUCKS gift cards!

Once you submit, you will get a text with your barcode on it. Save it as a screen shot. You will need to bring your phone with this barcode on it to the College Fair
The Kansas Promise Scholarship Act went into effect July 1. After other types of aid are applied, the program pays the entire remaining cost of tuition, fees and books.
In the Kansas City area, Johnson County Community College, Kansas City Kansas Community College, MidAmerica Nazarene University and Donnelly College are included on a list of schools with approved programs on the Kansas Board of Regents website.

Community Conversations is a series of virtual information sessions providing culturally inclusive and relevant information to students about Stanford’s admission process, campus community centers, and our diverse student body. The sessions will take place between September 27 and October 20.
Community Conversations are open to students of ALL backgrounds, regardless of how they may identify. We especially encourage participants from historically underrepresented groups, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander American, LGBTQ+, and first-generation and/or low-income college students.

Jumpstart Your Future High school students and college freshmen who meet ACT and GPA requirements are eligible for early admission acceptance. Nursing coursework begins each fall and requires two years to complete. This unique process allows you to:
• Guarantee your seat in a BSN program before starting college
• Fulfill nursing pre-requisites at a college or university of your choice
• Access premier clinical experiences and nursing education through Research College of Nursing
• Network within the region’s largest healthcare organization, HCA Midwest Health Graduates go on to work locally, nationally and internationally in a variety of different areas including medical, surgical, ICU, pediatrics and more.
Many continue their education at RCoN, earning a Master of Science in Nursing. Alumni pursue various careers such as school nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, nurse educators, nurse executives, and certified nurse midwives.

Federal Service Academies are not for everyone but we encourage those students looking to serve their country and accept a demanding academic schedule to apply. Like all federal service academies, there is no application fee for USMMA.
Our rigorous four-year academic program is highlighted by the Academy’s Sea Year experience. Through this unique program, every student gains real-world leadership experience working aboard commercial ships sailing to ports around the world during three academic terms. Our students pursue a degree in one of five majors offered through two Academic Departments: Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation. Students receive full tuition, room and board, and books at no cost.
Graduates of the United States Merchant Marine Academy earn a Bachelor of Science degree, a U.S. Coast Guard license, and a commission in the United States Armed Forces. Our graduates have an option to work as ship’s officers in the United States maritime industry or serve as commissioned officers on active duty in any branch of service.
