There are some colleges and universities that only accept applications directly from their website. Places like KCKCC, Pitt State, Johnson County Community College, and Wichita State only accept application through their website.
Go to the school website
Search for the admissions page
Look for a button or link to the application (apply here, apply now)
You may have to set up an account, make sure you keep track of your username and password
Fill out the application completely and accurately DO NOT RUSH
If an essay is required, make sure you write it out in a document, proof-read, and edit before submitting
You should be able to work on your application, save your work, and go back and finish later. It is always a good idea to let your application sit for 24 hours before making final submission
Most universities will require that you submit an application fee. Those fees usually range from $25-$75. Students who qualify for f/r lunch can get a fee waiver for up to 4 applications - see Dr. D or Ms. Anderson in the Sumner Success Center
The first thing you need to do is add the colleges you are applying to in your Naviance Account. To learn how to do this, watch this short video here
Request your transcript through Naviance. Watch this video to see how to request transcripts here
If you need reference letters from teachers, request those through Naviance. Watch this video here to learn how to request a letter (make sure you have had a conversation with your teachers first)
Watch your email! You will probably be asked to set up an account through the school's portal system. This is how you will get information about your application
Pay attention to all communication that comes from the school
Ask questions if you get any messages that you do not understand
Make sure the SSC staff knows when you get an acceptance
