SENIOR SUCCESS SERIES SEPTEMBER 15, 22, 29

Join us for in-person presentations for seniors and their parents to prepare for everything that needs to be done this year in order to make sure you are where you want to be NEXT year.

September 15 6:30-8:00 pm COLLEGE 101

This presentation is designed to help students and parents get a grand over-view of going to college. This meeting is scheduled for the same evening as Family Advocacy night, so come visit with teachers and stay to get these questions answered:

• How do we choose a college?

• How do we apply to college?

• How do we pay for college?

• Where do I get help with college?

September 22 6:30-8:00 pm COLLEGE OPTIONS

We will welcome several colleges and universities that Sumner Students tend to attend. Come and meet representatives and get detailed information about going to some of the schools that are most anxious to accept Sumner Graduates. We will also host a session to help DACA students and their families learn to navigate how to safely access college.

September 29 6:30-8:00 pm FINANCING COLLEGE

We will have a financial aid professional here to help students and parents understand how to apply for financial aid and scholarships. We will focus specifically on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (aka FAFSA) and help students and parents set up their FSA ID so they can file the FAFSA electronically starting October 1, 2021.

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Information Session

The United States Merchant Marine Academy is a federal service academy that educates and graduates leaders of exemplary character who are committed to serve the national security, marine transportation, and economic needs of the United States as licensed Merchant Marine Officers and commissioned officers in the Armed Forces. Students who attend a federal service academy receive a FREE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE.
