Working For Youth, Youthled KC, and Pro X are inviting youth like you across the Kansas City region to apply for a paid summer internship. These opportunities can be face-to-face or virtual and are scheduled to launch on June 6, 2022. As an intern, you will be able to gain professional experience that can help you achieve your goals.

About the Program
The Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Institute is a free, nine-day program run by the HNBF in Washington, DC that provides selected Hispanic high school students the opportunity to learn about the legal profession. Students will meet influential Hispanic leaders, visit government agencies, and get inspired to pursue legal careers!
All student expenses during the nine-day program are covered by the HNBF. While students are responsible for their transportation to and from DC, we offer fee waivers and travel scholarships based on financial need. Please do not allow the cost of transportation to deter you from applying.
This is a life-changing experience for Hispanic high school students, and we strongly encourage all eligible candidates to apply!

Registration is now open for our Spring Virtual College Fair! Sign-up to virtually connect with colleges and universities from around the country for free.
During the Virtual College Fair, you will have the chance to hear from many different colleges. You can choose which colleges you want to hear from by registering for their sessions. You and your family can ask questions of the college representatives throughout the presentations too!
The Explore RCoN application is now open - Deadline for applying is April 4, 2022
Last year we received over 120 applications for only 60 spaces for this camp experience. We would love to have your students be part of this experience!
Here are just a few short details about Explore RCoN:
· This is a day camp being held at Research College of Nursing June 20-23
· The cost for the camp is $100 and there are financial scholarships available
· The camp is intended for current high school sophomores and juniors

· Students will experience hands on labs, simulations, faculty classroom activities, lunch with HCA CNO and other nursing leaders and a full day in a one on one nursing shadow experience
· Students will need to be vaccinated for COVID and have a TB test done for the shadowing experience at the hospital
· The application deadline is April 4th and decisions will be released to all applicants by April 15th

College Ambassadors

Interested in becoming an Ambassador for the 2022-2023 school year. Stop by the Success Center for an application. Ambassadors must be sophomores going into their junior year.
For current High School Juniors who are interested in law
Students of color who will likely be first generation college students or who face other significant financial challenges; and
Interested in participating in a paid summer law academy experience with free transportation.
When? SLA Scholars will meet each morning during the weekdays from May 31 to June 24. They will also meet over lunch with a mentor the first day of each week (May 31, June 6, June 13, June 21).
What Will Scholars Do? The first day of each week Scholars will connect with their mentor. All other days of the week they will attend three presentations from local law professionals on the type of law they practice, how they navigated their career, and advice they have for young professionals. Students are paid $10/hour for this experience and free transportation is available.

The Summer Venture in Business (SVB) is a pre-college summer academy housed in the University of Kansas School of Business for underrepresented ethnic minority students in high school and/or potential first-generation college students who are interested in business.
