SCOIRÂ (pronounced "score") is Arapahoe's web-based platform used to help plan for our students' post high school years. All students and parents/guardians are invited to join! Here's how:
If you don't already have a Scoir account, search your LPS inbox for an email from Scoir & Click "Register My Account."Â
Consider inviting your parents/guardians to join Scoir & link to your account. This will enable them to:
View your profile, along with the colleges you follow
Collaborate on college search
Conduct their own searches
Review and compare college cost information and estimated net tuition
Note: You can download the Scoir app to your phone!
Learn more about your tendencies, talents, and core dimensions of your personality to help find the right career! You can initially find the assessments on your landing page, but once you've taken them, they'll be under the Discover tab (click Careers at the top) and in your Profile (click Me > Careers on the left).
Teachers cannot write Letters of Recommendation until the survey is complete! Because requests for LORs must be made at least a month before your earliest application deadline, completing the survey before schools starts this fall ensures that this piece of your application will be done on time. Invitations to complete the survey were sent to Juniors on May 20th, so check your inbox for a link!
The Profile section is useful if you want to be able to print a resume to include with your application (requested at some colleges and special programs). Activities and achievements, such as sports teams, clubs, after school programs, awards, jobs, volunteer work, and other accolades, can be listed, along with your personal & academic details that are already included. This information will be used on your college applications, so it's really useful if you have it updated by the time you start filling those out!
You can take the College Match Quiz to find schools that might be a good fit for you, but you can also click the Discover button to filter for academic focus, application method, locations, and more! Viewing Scattergrams (search for colleges, click Admissions > View Application Scattergrams) in Scoir can help you decide if the college is a reach, match, or safety school for you. This is ultimately how you begin building your college list.
To keep track of colleges that interest you, make sure to Follow them and add them to your My Colleges list. You can access this list at any time and also keep track of and review Counselor and Parent college suggestions. Colleges on your list can send you messages so you can learn more about them, and you'll also receive notifications if any of your colleges schedule a visits here at AHS.
The Postsecondary Center hosts 75-100 reps from colleges all across the US each fall. These visits are low-stress opportunities to spend about 30-minutes hearing directly from admissions counselors at some of your top-choice schools right here on our campus! You can ask questions, show interest (some schools track "demonstrated interest!," and save money on travel.
Applying/Applied Columns: Move the colleges you're applying to over to the Applying column in Scoir and research requirements. You need to know what materials you need, i.e. letters of rec, test scores, etc. This information can be found by clicking on the college name from your list. You can also keep track of what steps you've taken and what you have left! Once you're ready for us to send documents, move your schools over to the Applied Column in Scoir. This will alert your counselors to send transcripts & any other required documents. It's Ok if you haven't actually applied, as long as you intend to apply. Be aware that you'll be charged $5 for each college in this column that requires documents. When prompted, be sure to indicate which application type you're using, which deadline, your major (if known), and whether or not you're applying test optional.
Application: Choose which application type you'll use -- Common App, Institutional, or Scoir -- and follow the links below for instructions.
Of course, this is an oversimplification of the Application process, but this is what matters in Scoir. See the Application Section of this website for more detailed information & guides.
Moving a college to the Applied column generates a notification to your counselor that your documents should be sent, but there are some steps you need to take for letters of rec & test scores!
Transcripts are automatically sent to any schools that are moved to your Applied column in Scoir. Check to see if the school allows you to send an unofficial transcript, in which case you can just download one from Infinite Campus. If they want an SRAR, or self-reported academic record, you'll need to download your transcript from IC (be sure to select the one that has your current work in progress included) and enter your courses/grades using the link they provide after you submit your application.
Teacher Recommendations should be requested both in person and in Scoir by clicking My Colleges > Application Documents. Scoir will automatically assign a deadline for your teacher that correlates to the earliest deadline of all colleges in your Applying/Applied columns, so be sure you've selected the correct deadline for all of your colleges! You'll still want to make sure your teacher knows when you need the letter, especially if it's sooner than the deadline they'll see in Scoir.
Counselor Letters. These must also be requested in person! Scoir & Common App both list application requirements, but check the website of each college you're applying to for verification! Enter your counselor letter request in Scoir just like you do a teacher.
Test Scores. Contact ACT or College Board. We do not send these.
Early Decision Contracts. Sign with your counselor & parents/guardians.
Fee Waivers. Talk to your counselor if you think you qualify.
NOTE: You'll need to enter recommenders in Common App, but don't put their contact info. For counselor, just enter their first & last name! If a teacher is also required, enter their subject, firs/last name, and select "no" when asked if you want them to complete an evaluation.
Once you have made your decision, move the college you're going to up to the Enrolled section in your Applied Column. This is the only way we'll know where to send Final transcripts! You'll complete a Senior Exit Survey in the spring where you'll be asked for more information, so keep track of your scholarship offers and acceptance status.
The colleges you're applying to should be in the Applied Column in Scoir once you've applied (or are sure you're applying soon).
Requests for Teacher * Counselor Letters of Rec must be entered in Scoir (after you've asked in person!). Your earliest college deadline is your teacher's deadline; AHS will send letters.
Don't enter contact info for recommenders in Common App! For counselor, just enter their first & last name. If a teacher is also required, enter their subject, firs/last name, and select "no" when asked if you want them to complete an evaluation.
Counselors will only send required documents to colleges in your Applied column. Moving a college to that column automatically generates a notification. There is a $5 fee per school, which will be added to your IC account under Fees and must be paid before graduation.
CO Free application days are October 7th-9th, 2025. Apply free to all Colorado schools using these instructions. Only your application needs to be sent during this time... all supporting documents can wait until the official deadline for each school.
