Inclusive higher education is an option for students with intellectual and/or developmental challenges to attend meaningful post-secondary programs. Inclusive higher education is made for students who may need additional supports to be successful in college. Students who attend a program offering inclusive higher education often do not need to meet the regular admissions criteria for college, instead they are evaluated on their unique abilities and desire to extend their learning after graduation.
LPS Transition Services is a community-based program that serves a wide range of students with disabilities who are 18-21 years of age. Services and supports for students are based on their individual needs and their long term goals and outcomes.
All Elevate at ACC students partner with the Elevate at ACC Coordinator to draft and implement an individual program of study. Regis University’s GLOBAL Inclusive College Certificate is a higher education program that provides a collegiate experience for young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The academic course work and career exploration prepare these students for employment and independent living with the overall goal of self-sufficiency in adulthood
Students complete 72-80 credit hours using a combination of modifications and accommodations. Upon successful completion, students are awarded a Credential of Completion GOAL supports student success using a person centered approach within three domains: academics, campus life, and career development.
The Office of Inclusive Services Summer Institute is a week long higher education preparatory experience for rising high school juniors, seniors, and young adults with intellectual disabilities up to age 25.
