THE DETAILS

The course is broken down into three units:

  • Retail business

  • Retail operations

The units are designed with tasks which have many of the characteristics of real work in retail business. Each unit has an ‘applied purpose’ which acts as a focus for the learning in the unit.

The approach to the course is ‘applied learning’ and enables learners to develop:

      • skills required for independent learning;

      • a range of generic and transferable skills;

      • the ability to solve problems;

      • the skills of project-based research, development and presentation;

      • the ability to work with other professionals in a professional manner.

The units are all planned around a ‘plan, do, review’ model.
