EAL outstanding work

The JETs, our EAL literacy group, have enjoyed reading Peace At Last this month. In Peace At Last, Mr Bear is very tired and wants to go to sleep however, he struggles to find anywhere peaceful in his home. Mr Bear tried to sleep in his room with Mrs Bear, then with Baby Bear, the living room, the kitchen, the garden and even his car. At last, when the sun starts to rise, Mr Bear finds peace in his own bedroom. Unfortunately this is disturbed by Mrs Bear and Bbay Bear who wake up from their restful and peaceful sleep.

Students have created story boards and character profiles after reading the texts. It is wonderful to see such great improvements in students pronunciation and fluency! Pupils have welcomed the challenged of producing their own sentences using sentence starters and key words from last half term.  Students have also been reading non-fiction texts on animals featured in the story such as the bears, hedgehogs and owls.

Well done to Omar, Mahammdou, Islam and Bakary! Their outstanding work is featured below.
