English

In Year 7 English you will discover exciting new characters and storylines with the reading of some Shakespeare, a modern novel and some poetry too! We will enter the world of Charles Dickens through some of his writing and see what it was like living as a Victorian. We are always impressed with how well you can talk and write about a text.

We will learn about how writing can be changed for different people and purposes; you will explore ways of making your writing more powerful and we are looking forward to seeing just how creative and imaginative you can be!

You will recognise many of the skills in your English lessons – you are already readers and writers; but we will be showing you how you can develop them further and really show them off effectively.

We are looking forward to meeting you all!
