Drama

We believe that Drama is really important in helping students to build confidence and improve team-work skills, whilst also teaching different dramatic techniques.

The topics we study in Year 7 are:

INTRODUCTION TO DRAMA

A fun and interesting introduction to the Drama curriculum, using skills such as Mime and Role play.

PANTOMIME

Pupils learn the art of pantomime and the different techniques used. They will also create their own versions of existing pantomimes!

DARKWOOD MANOR

Pupils will be creating spooky performances based on an old manor house. They will have to use a great deal of imagination in this topic.

MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

Without studying the text in full, pupils will be learning about different characters in this great Shakespearean fantasy.

FARCE

Pupils will experiment with different elements of Farce theatre such as slapstick and cross-talk scripts in this hilarious topic!

MURDER MYSTERY

Whodunnit? That is the big question! Pupils get the chance to play a role in a large murder mystery scenario, deciding who the murderer is. They experiment with performing to music/slow motion and other techniques.
